A Night On The Town.

The sky was falling, it was getting dark and the weekend was soon upon us. So I gathered up the wife and kids and we headed out into the night to have a little fun and to check out "The Field House"!It may sound a little strange but I was actually very excited to check out the new shop by the Blackbird team.... And I was not disappointed.
Since moving to the Great Northwest I have been missing the shopping experience that I have been use to in the LA area. To say there is a void of good shops n' Boutiques here is everything short of an understatement. Very few and very far between. So "The Field House" is a welcomed addition.
This past Friday they had a little open house for the shop. Warm beverages and a warm welcoming. It was a great chance to meet with the crew that made it happen and mingle with those that want to support it. My boys even had a good time. So thank you Blackbird for the night out.

If you have not had a chance to make out there yet make sure you do.

Cheers.

Image Archive: Barber Shops.

It is my long term goal to open a brick n' mortar "Emporium" in the not so distant future. I plan to have at least two chairs for the art of barbering, a place for a man to relax and recive treatments of some of the "lost" arts such as the hot shave.

I have gathered many images of the past from this wonderful tool known as the internet and plan to archive them here over the next few weeks. There is so much detail and nostalgia found in each image from the interior of the shops to the clothes that the barbers wear and the tools they use, even the look of their patrons. Stoked!

This image below has to be one of my favorite ones.

More next week.
Cheers.

A Little Place to Sell.

As mentioned a while back, have been working on setting up our own little online emporium to get out into the world my own silly whatnot's. We have started small... as in neckties for the little ones. Plan to add heaps more over the next while, even goods that the average joe could adorn himself with. So check back often. For now if you want to take a little look'C click here.

Cheers.

Archive: J.Crew Tribeca Shop

As an avid lover of a true shopping experience I love when shops mix old with the new and the past with the present. A fine example is J.Crews Tribeca Men's Shop, The Liquor Store. I would much rather it be a small independent shop than a part of a mass retailer but at least they are making an effort and giving you a chance to experience something more than the standard box shop that is found in the malls accross america. From the images of the shop it is well put together. This goes on my list for shop interior inspiration.
