Make It Fun.

The other day I was sit'n eating my breakfast cereal when I started to think about life and this is what I came to realize, "make it fun"!
Now what this means to me is that it is up to me and only me to decide how I am going to react to life and what it throws at me. I can not rely on others to make me have a good day or to overcome some sort of stressful situation only I can do it. So make it fun, what a good way to live life, don't ya think? A lot more pro-active than just sitting around wishing something would happen but actually going and doing something and having fun along the way. Now go play.

Custom Chop.

This week at Vans we had our product launch for Spring 2009 were all of the reps from all over the world come together and get educated on the new product. They usualy have some type of "give a ways", free stuff like tee shirts and hats and stuff. Well this time around they gave out lap top cases. So here is what it looks like.

Well I got a idea to make it more use full. So out came the scissors and the sewing machine and now it looks like this.

It is a new case for my table tennis blade!

I have been rocking my blade in the bubble envelope that my rubber order came in from Paddle Palace way back in February cause I did not have a case.

And now I have one, a one of a kind (untail some of the folks here who play at work decide they want one) Vans paddle case. Thanks Vans.

The New Ride

This past weekend I obtained a new ride to play around on and spent most of Saturday pushing all over town on it and braking it in. The paint is a bit ruff right now from the previous owner, Mr. De Wit, but I have plans to strip her down and do little brush works in the sometime distant future.
So stoked to have a solid piece to push on and burn off the spare tire that formed while sitting idle all day....

In the Light With Scott

A nice young man that I work with every now and then here at Vans showed me his foto friends web site and now I want to share it with you.
His name is Scott Pommier he does nice work.

Use of Light.

Over that last few months I have not been riding my bike and my weight is showing... Though I have been playing table tennis at least once a week I find that it is so much easer to get on the bike and go for a ride by ones self than it is to hook up with others to play table tennis. So I got the dust off the bike and pumped up the tires and went for a ride. It all came rushing back! I love to ride my bike!
Here are some pics that I shot today. I played around with the off focus shooting like the Uda Barth foto's I shared a while back. Quite fun.

Touch The Future With The Past.

I am not exactly sure what to think of this site that I fell into today.
Her name is J. Morgan Puett she is an apparel designer and retail / design space designer, but she is also represented by a gallery in NYC, so I guess you could say she is an artist as well.
So why I am I sharing my find? Well it has to do with her looks and style. This is what I love. The rustic, old, worn, aged look and feel. The use of natural and earth tones and fabrics. Hand made and hand dyed.... So good. Please enjoy.

Fade Out.

Wanted to share these pics of Uda Barth. Something about a blured out picture that I find very interesting. Photography is the capture of light and I think these do an amazing job of showing light, color and shape.

Bmx Pics.

So the other day... (month ago) I brought my camera to work and i shot Mike DeWit on his push bike. Well now them pics are up on FitbikeCo.com. Though I got no foto cred for the pics I know I was there and pulled the trigger.

Since I am posting about mike on his bike I thought I would share a mock ad that I made of a pic we took on a lunch brake way back in 2006. (pre SLR)

Image Adiction.

AAAAAAAAAAAA! So I stumbled here and now I can not get out!
It is a site that they say is "image bookmarking" in that people out in the web world find images they like, post it to this site and then you the viewer can click on it and go to the site it came from. That is fine, but then they go and have 'images you might like" and that is were you get sucked in..... click click click click.....

Pong in Style.

Today while jumping around the ol intronet I found an image of Naomi Yotsumoto of Japan on ITTF web site. So naturly I had to find out more about her... Since I do not read Japanese very well I did not get a lot of info.
What I could gather is she is a pro table tennis player who makes her own outfits for play. I am not a super fan of her exact style but I love that she is doing her own thing and enjoying herself. here is a little excerp I found here
Her uniform obsession began after she graduated from college. “I wanted to show myself. So with that, I wanted to change the image of ‘Table tennis is stupid.’ ”
She has designed the uniforms that she is wearing [in the Japanese National Championships]. She wore a cream number that exposed her left shoulder and also had a “Paris daisy” in her hair. She advanced to the quarterfinals in the mixed doubles, but lost in the fourth round of the women’s singles.
“Without a doubt, I wouldn’t wear gear that would be a hindrance to my play. (As for the loud uniforms), I understand the pros and cons, but I want to continue with it.”
I hope she keeps it up and look forward to see more of her in the future.

Also on fashion and TT, at the VW womans world cup in 2007 they had a fashion show...
It is not the best looking fashion, well not the syle that I like or would design, but at lest they are doing somthing about the stail uniform looks that are in ProTT. I think woman's golf has the right idea and start for style. Now to work on the men's wear.

And Now We Battle.

I Finished the battle axes! Now I am waiting for the rubber to arrive and then it is play time.... In regards to the rubber I know that it is not the best but I am still new at this awesome sport so I figured I would learn to walk before I run, so I went for a good basic.

This was a fun project. Maybe I will do sum more in the future. (?) Only time will tell... and if anyone else actually would want to get one for them selfs.

Now it is time to go break it in!!!

Next up: I will be up in Washington for my brother-in-law's wedding for the next week. And then I am jumping into more tailoring projects and getting the Table Tennis uniforms made.
Also got a few art projects to bust out. So it looks like another busy month in February.

How are your projects coming along?
If you have not started any why not do it now.... Cheers.
