Just pushing along with the current project. Above are a few of the most recent purchases that will be transformed into a few ideas that have been flouting around for a while now. More once complete.


Speaking of flouting, this past weekend hit a random junk shop and spotted this fine sailing jacket that is fully lined with foam to help keep you above the water if you happen to go overboard. Just trying to keep my own head above water with all that is going on.

R/Co. Project AW10:Boil n' Snip.

As the days are rushing by way to quickly I am busy trying to make the most of the short amount of time between getting home from the 9-5, eating dinner, getting the boys ready for bed and putting them down, clean up dinner, help straiten up boy ravaged house and then getting to bed myself sometime in the early morning of the next day. In that ever smaller space before I need to hit the hay i have been building and working on the project. The other night I started boiling up a big ol pot of black tea...
to dump in some fabric and make it just that much better.

Also have been snip'n away at the large manila cardstock, or oak tag, busting out a few more patterns and updates.
All and all I am way behind where I want to be in regards to timeline but still just plug'n along. I am flying in my foto buddy in the beginning of April to shoot the goods so I hope I have something for him to shoot...At least I have some of the materials I need to build the goods, that is a start.

R/Co. Project AW10:Chop n' Pound.

The sound of hammering has been filling the chilly early spring nights here in the REDCROW garage in the Great Pacific Northwest. I am working on a few ideas that I have been wanting to try for some time now. One is for a print that involves a pattern, some hole punches, and a hammer. This is to build the stencil. Then some fabric, wax and fabric dye to make the print.


Not sure if it is going to actually work. But the stencil has been pounded out and the dye has been purchased. So now to get dirty and see how it goes....

Also been using the hammer on some old nails that I have been meaning to use. It is not easy to pound out a round shape on 1/4" thick steel, with a regular hammer.
Make'n due with what I got.

The chop of the fabric shears have been mixing in with the pounding to cut up the latest obtained fabrics. So all in all things are happening. Oh, and I will be 31 on the 22nd day of this month of March. How about you, what are you building? Remember a little here and a little there and somehow it all comes together.... I guess.

One of my favorite Biycle companies out there has to be Mutiny Bikes. These kids make super well made and designed products. The Bike team hold their own

and the video making is very well done indeed.

They have a new little motion picture that looks to be another winner in my book. Though I have yet to actually see the full length production but the trailer makes me happy! Gives a look here and you be the judge.

Put The 2 Together.

So I am starting work on a new project idea for the REDCROW Quality Goods and was thumbing through the 'ol net and stubled upon the latest collection shots for Kato' out of the land of the riding sun. I am super stoked on the way they composed the shots for the products.

A nice mix of on body shots for some style andthen hanger or on the flat for others.






Then the nice use of two images side by side one full body one with a little close up detail.

well done! I am going to have to keep this layout style in mind.... More on that later.

I have started to roll up my sleeves and dig in on something I find to be quite interesting that involves building upon recent interests and ideas... I do not know what the final product will look like or if it will lead to anything but I am excited to see what will come of it, if anything at all. To get a taste of the influences for were the idea is going, check out the latest over on The Weekenders. I will share more as it starts to take form while we march toward the final sunsets of the year...

Oh Man, where has the time gone? If anyone knows please let me in on it because I think I lost some of it a while back....

A Night On The Town.

The sky was falling, it was getting dark and the weekend was soon upon us. So I gathered up the wife and kids and we headed out into the night to have a little fun and to check out "The Field House"!It may sound a little strange but I was actually very excited to check out the new shop by the Blackbird team.... And I was not disappointed.
Since moving to the Great Northwest I have been missing the shopping experience that I have been use to in the LA area. To say there is a void of good shops n' Boutiques here is everything short of an understatement. Very few and very far between. So "The Field House" is a welcomed addition.
This past Friday they had a little open house for the shop. Warm beverages and a warm welcoming. It was a great chance to meet with the crew that made it happen and mingle with those that want to support it. My boys even had a good time. So thank you Blackbird for the night out.

If you have not had a chance to make out there yet make sure you do.
